Washington Jewish Week - "Some March for Some March Against"

Here's one comment:
CONGRATULATIONS! We made a beginning rip in the fabric of the intolerance and WM Inc's big-organization dominance in D.C. Papers are reporting that "The March" AND ALSO "Alternative Marches" have happened today in D.C. itself.
.
When we started this just a short while ago, even 2 weeks ago, most posts and comments were pure confusion that there could even exist a march that wasn't the WM Inc, in the DC area. People believed it possible in other parts of the country, but not in a spot with a DC zipcode too!
.
We've changed the framework. It's evident by how many media persons came and then stayed to take notes and interviews. They considered it significant that we existed. Day before the event, one of the organizers was interviewed for a pre-show. We had calls coming in from media all day and the day before too.
.
There's been so much pushback - fear that we'd "challenge them" including from Jewish women who were upset with the issues of intolerance. I believe we were the ONLY liberal leaning attendee alternative group. (The other independent one is conservative-based, hence the name "For ALL Women.")
.
We had a nice sized crowd for poor weather. The cancellation of Annapolis's put a hesitation on, and the inaccurate weather advisories (I saw no sleet in Montgomery County, only barely a drizzle!!) left a lot of people staying home. Plus a few people reported in that they were stuck in traffic and not able to get through even near the end of the event.
Thank you to everyone! You were wonderful and great and you made a difference today, for the future!"

Weather: Update: 7:00am Saturday
We're still happening!
We may add livestream options too....
Take the metro, wear long johns and enjoy our great speakers. We'll have hand warmers too.
The advisories are from the North West, and keep changing. Most of the day is noted as clear for DC, Baltimore. With the rain starting at 5pm after we're done.

Women's March Inc. and other events in D.C. appear to still be happening too. We have speakers and guests who've arrived from out of state to join us!
